Bigg Boss, undoubtedly being one of the most awaited Indian TV shows, is back with a new season starting from the 2nd of October, which means there’s going to be a lot of new faces, a lot of drama, and a lot of fun and challenging tasks for the participants. The show, based on the Dutch reality show Big Brother, has seen a lot of changes since it was first aired on 3rd November 2006 on Sony Television.

However, one thing that hasn’t changed is the host. The 15th season of this show will be hosted by none other than Salman Khan, who has been hosting the show since 2010 consecutively. This will be his 12th year as the host. He is back in India to launch the show on the 2nd of October. So what does this season have in store for us viewers? What will keep us gripped to the show this year? Let’s read and find out!

Theme

Yet again, the show is back with a new theme, “Sankat in Jungle”. As soon as the news was shared, the fans took no time in complementing the theme and the host. The OTT is still on and is being hosted by Karan Johar, but the fans aren’t that impressed by his hosting skills. They want to see Salman hosting the show even more than before now.

Several promos have been shared by the makers, but what has caught the eye of the viewers is the theme. The actor has shared a promotional video and introduced everyone to what this theme will be all about in his eccentric and funny avatar on the official Instagram handle of the channel.

The promo shows Salman in a night suit sitting in the middle of a jungle. He is talking to a beautiful “Vishwasuntree”, the voiceover of which has been given by the veteran actress, Rekha. He asks her how the contestants will sleep every night to which she replies that sleep will be difficult because of the “Cold winds”.

Contestants

The list of contestants is also something that has kept us viewers on our toes. They are, after all, what brings the spice to the show! So, who are the popular faces we can expect to see on the screen this season?

Well, the list of popular names include actresses Rhea Chakrabarty, Priya Banerjee, Bhumika Chawla, Disha Parmar, Gulki Joshi, and Ankita Lokhande. Actors Krushna Abhishek, Parth Samthaan, Mohsin Khan, Raghav Juyal, and Cezzane Khan. Some of them have been finalised to participate and compete while some of them have been offered to participate.

Both commoners and celebrities will be participating this year, but with a special focus on couples and ex-couples with an extremely controversial breakup. Speaking about contestants, viewers are definitely unhappy about the demise of Sidharth Shukla.

This year, the commoners will enter the house before the celebrities and will be retained on the votes of the viewers. Once they’re selected, the celebrities will make an entry into the house. This is something that will definitely make the show worth watching.

Changes

Makers, this year, have inducted some changes into the show to ensure that the show attracts a good amount of attention and TRP. The last season did not perform according to the expectations, even after a lot of star celebrities being a part of it. It is because of these reasons, the following changes have been made.

Reports suggest that the show will run for around 6 months, but the telecast will be restricted to 4-5 months only. Decisions to whether to extend or reduce the duration will be made later, based on the TRP the show receives.

The makers are also introducing a new format to the show to ensure that the show is not taken off-air because of bad TRP ratings. Every eviction will lead to the entry of a new contestant inside the house as a wildcard entry. This, according to the makers, will keep the viewers interested in the show. Last season, old participants were brought into the show who were supposed to observe the new participants. They were brought in as challengers and they competed against the new contestants.
