On October 7th, Chennai Super Kings might have lost their match against Punjab Kings at Dubai International Stadium, but their bowling allrounder, Deepak Chahar, won hearts.
Chennai Super Kings lost the match after KL Rahul’s undefeated 98, but Chahar had a smile on his face as he celebrated his engagement.
Chennai Super Kings were the first team to qualify for the IPL 2021 playoffs. They were later joined by Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The Indian Cricketer surprised his girlfriend, Jaya Bharadwaj, after the match was over by proposing to her. Jaya said yes and then rings were exchanged.
Later, while announcing his engagement on Instagram, Deepak shared photos of him and Jaya with rings and captioned, “Picture says it all. Need all your blessings #taken”.
Deepak Chahar also uploaded a video of his proposal and captioned it, “Special moment❤️”.
As per a source, Deepak wanted to propose in the Playoffs but MS Dhoni told him to do it after the last match of the league stage.
Who is Deepak Chahar’s now fiancé, Jaya Bhardwaj?
Jaya Bhardwaj is a 29-year-old business professional from Delhi. Jaya was born on 5th September 1992 and has a degree in Mass Media Communication. She is the sister of former Big Boss 5 and Splitsvilla 2 contestant Sidharth Bhardwaj.
Jaya and Deepak are expected to tie the knot very soon.
The celebration continued for the couple as when they reached the team hotel, a cake was waiting for them. In a video shared by the official account of CSK, we can see the couple entering the hotel then cutting the cake.
As soon as the cake cutting was done, Deepak was lifted by MS Dhoni and Krishnappa Gowtham. After lifting him, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Robin Uthappa, and others covered him with cake and other substances which they had with them.
After the chaos, Deepak was brought down and the chaos creators made a swift exit leaving Deepak covered in mess. “Congratulations Deepak & Jaya! Merry moments from the Cherry Celebrations.!”, was the caption on the video.
Dhoni and Company enjoyed the happy moment but they need to pull back from their losing streak as their next match will be in the playoffs.
The batting of CSK has been led by Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis, but aside from Ambati Rayudu, the other middle-order batsmen have not made significant contributions. For the next match, the bowlers will also need to bring their A-game.
Deepak Chahar has been one of the finest performers for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2021 so far, consistently challenging hitters in the powerplay as they attempted to score big against his team.
Chahar is a reserve for the Indian T20 squad for the forthcoming men’s T20 World Cup in the UAE and Oman.
In this season of the Indian Premier League, Chahar with an economy of 8.36 has managed to bang 13 wickets in 13 games. He has an overall average of 30.23 and his best performance this season was 4 wickets for 13 runs.
Before their last game against Punjab Kings, during the official broadcast, while talking to Nikhil Chopra, Deepak Chahar said that he had made changes to his style after last season and that he took the experience from last year when they played in the UAE. He knew what line and length he had to bowl. As per him, there is some help for the bowlers this year on the Dubai pitch compared to that of last year. Dubai and Abu Dhabi have been slower surfaces. So, if one bowls in the right areas, he’ll get the return. He added that he had worked on his bowling during the offseason.
