A wedding is the epitome of a joyous occasion. Everything about the event is magical. The dances, the toasts, the vibes, and the peacefulness (well, unless you’re organizing it) is something we all look forward to in a wedding.
And for the bride, the most integral part of the wedding is the selection of her wedding dress. It’s the one day that she gets to feel like a princess, walking down the aisle into a new chapter in her life. And this selection process can be both heavy on your mind as well as your wallet.
But, if you’re a celebrity, is money still a constraint?
Bearing that in mind, I present to you the Top 5 Expensive Wedding Dresses worn by celebrities :
Serena Williams – 3.5 Million USD
The professional tennis player Serena Williams got married to Reddit co-owner Alex Ohanian in a Beauty and The Beast-themed wedding with decor as old as time. She also wore a stunning wedding dress which was a whopping 3.5 million dollars. The dress was designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander Mcqueen and featured a strapless, belted princess gown with a complete cape. And to add to the grandeur of her wedding and wedding dress, she also made a statement by having two other outfits for the reception and after-party.
Vera Wang – 1.5 Million USDIf you’re looking for that crystal white gown that almost everybody goes for, I’m sorry to say this isn’t like that. This American designer decided to stray away from the normal and tied the knot in 2009 with a peacock dress. Now, if you thought wait, don’t you mean peacock green color. You’re wrong because I meant it when I said Peacock Dress, owing to the dress being entirely made of male peacock feathers. The dress, created for a wedding expo in Nanjing, China, was said to have had more than 2000 male peacock feathers, needing almost eight craftspeople for the stitching.
Victoria Swarovski – 1 Million USD
The heiress to the crystal empire got married in a wedding almost equivalent to her entire wedding. With the three-day destination wedding, the bride shocked the entire world with her stunning wedding dress almost entirely made of crystals. The dress was custom-made by designer Michael Cinco and featured over 500,000 crystals, and weighed around 100 pounds. The dress was sparkling with all those crystals, and as if it wasn’t enough, the gown also featured a 26-foot long train.
Kim Kardashian – $500,000
The CEO of SKIMS and mommy to North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm was all dolled up to marry the rapper Kanye West in a small wedding ceremony. Even though the word small may have fooled us all, it was one of the top weddings of the year, costing about a total of 2.8 million, with the ceremony having an enormous price tag. It’s only natural that the wedding dress should be over the top too. The reality TV star wore a custom Givenchy Bridal Gown and looked stunning in it as she walked down the aisle with her sisters and family by her side.
Kate Middleton – $434,000
Rocking another piece by Sarah Burton of Alexander Mcqueen, this piece stole the eyes of the public as the Duchess got ready to marry her literal prince. The dress was covered with chantilly lace which included the bodice, skirt, and underskirt train. And the lace applique was hand-made by the Royal School of Needlework. The dress also featured a nine-foot-long train. And when asked about why she chose the particular fashion house, the palace revealed in a statement that she wanted a brand that could combine tradition and modernity with an artistic vision.
