The actor was born to Shrishti Nath Kapoor on 14th December 1924. Along with an Indian film actor, he was a producer and a director of Bollywood. The actor was widely regarded as the greatest showman in the history of Bollywood and entertainment. Raj Kapoor received multiple honors, including three National Film Awards and eleven Filmfare Awards in India. After Raj Kapoor, the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award is named. Kapoor was nominated for the Palme d’Or grand prize at the Cannes Film Festival for his role in films Awaara (1951) and Boot Polish (1954). The actor’s performance was ranked as one of the top ten after the most outstanding performances in Awaara film of all time by Time magazine. The actor’s performance attracted worldwide audiences, basically in Asia and Europe.
He was also honored by The Government of India with the Padma Bhushan in 1971 for his contributions to the arts. The Dadasaheb Phalke Awarded India’s highest award in the film industry was granted to him in 1987 by the Government of India. He was the Tamil film director of as same name Raj Kapoor.

Early life And Background
Raj was born in 1924 at Kapoor Haveli into a Khatri Punjabi Hindu family; Kapoor’s house was owned by his father, in British-held Peshawar, North Western Frontier Province, to his parents Prithviraj Kapoor and Ramsarni Devi Kapoor. They were six children in the family. He was the eldest sibling of his family. Raj Kapoor was the grandson of Dewan Basheswarnath Kapoor and the great-grandson of Dewan Keshavmal Kapoor, and they were part of the famous Kapoor family. Shammi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor brothers of Kapoor they were also an actor. Actor Raj Kapoor also had a sister named Urmila Sial. The rest of the two other siblings have died in infancy. All of them, later on, moved from Peshawar for residence and for studying. Kapoor’s motherly cousin, Juggal Kishore Mehra, who was a singer, and his granddaughter, Salma Agha, after became a Bollywood actress.
His father, Prithviraj Kapoor, migrated from city to city for his career during the 1930s, and the family was also had to move too. Kapoor completed his schooling from several different schools like Colonel Brown Cambridge School, Dehradun, and St Xavier’s Collegiate School, Calcutta, and Mumbai.

Kapoor came to Bollywood when he was ten years for the first time in 1935’s Inquilab. Raj Kapoor’s 1st movie went with the lead role in Neel Kamal’s film in 1947, opposite to Madhubalahe played the role of women. Later on, in 1948, he established his own studio at the age of twenty-four, R. K. Films, and became the youngest movie director of his time in Bollywood, making his own directorial debut with Aag taking the lead of himself, Nargis, Kamini Kaushal, and Premnath. In 1949 he co-acted alongside Dilip Kumar and Nargis in Mehboob Khan’s hit film Andaz which became Kapoor’s 1st major success as an actor. Later that, he became his first success as a producer, director, and star of Barsaat released that year.
Actor Raj Kapoor made several fit movies and produced under his R. K. Banner including Awaara film in 1951, Shree 420 in 1955, Jagte Raho film in 1956 and Jis Desh Men Ganga Behti Hai film 1960, the last movie was directed by Radhu Karmakar, Actor’s longtime cinematographer and who won Filmfare Award for Best Film. These films made his screen image represented on Charlie Chaplin’s most famous screen persona of The Trudge. In 1964, Raj Kapoor produced, directed, and performed in the romantic musical Sangam along with Rajendra Kumar and Vyjayantimala, and that was his first film in color. This movie was his last big success as a leading actor as his later all films were bo office flops like Dulha Dulhan film in 1964, Sapnon Ka Saudagar (1968) with younger starlets Sadhana, Rajshree and Hema and Around the World (1966). Kapoor was a member of the Jury at the 4th Moscow International Film Festival In 1965.

Again in 1970, he performed, directed, and produced his ambitious film Mera Naam Joker which took more than five years to complete the film. In this film, Raj Kapoor’s son Rishi Kapoor made his entrance playing the younger version of his character. When the movie gets released in 1970, this movie became a box office disaster and put Kapoor and his family into a financial crisis. After many years it was accepted as a cult classic. In 1971, Raj Kapoor launched his eldest son Randhir Kapoor’s 1st film, which was the family drama movie Kal Aaj Aur Kal taking the role of himself, his son Randhir Kapoor, his father Prithviraj Kapoor, and Randhir’s to-be wife, Babita. After that, Kapoor Started his second son Rishi Kapoor’s career in 1973 when he produced and directed Bobby, which became a huge box office success and introduced actress Dimple Kapadia at age 14, later he became a trendy actress; this movie was the first of a new generation of teen romances. Dimple Kapadia wore bikinis in the film, which was quite different and unique for Indian film then. In 1975 he acted along with his son Randhir again in Dharam Karam film, which Randhir was also directed.


At the end of the 1970s and the beginning of the 1980s, Kapoor’s directed and produced films that focused on Heroine like Satyam Shivam Sundaram in 1978 with Actress Zeenat Aman, Prem Rog in 1982 with Padmini Kolhapure actress and Ram Teri Ganga Maili in 1985, which introduced actress Mandakini. Raj Kapoor acted in fewer films in the late 1970s and early 1980s but played a remarkable supporting role along with Rajesh Khanna in Naukri film (1978) and as the minor character along with Sanjay Khan in Abdullah film (1980). In which Kapoor performed the role of a detective in two comedy films: Do Jasoos (1975) and Gopichand Jasoos (1982), which were both directed by Naresh Kumar, brother of Rajendra Kumar. Raj Kapoor’s last crucial film’s arrival was in Vakil Babu in 1982, where he was shown with his younger brother Shashi Kapoor. The film was completed in 1982 titled Chor Mandali, in which he was shown opposite fellow veteran actor Ashok Kumar which was remained unreleased due to a legal dispute. Cameo appearance in 1984 was the last act the role of Raj Kapoor was released in British made for television film which was titled, Kim.
The Actor Raj Kapoor was set to direct Henna performed with his son Rishi and Pakistani actress Zeba Bakhtiar before his death in 1988. Kapoor’s son Randhir directed the film, and it was released in 1991.
