It’s A Boy Named Cosmo For Scarlett Johansson!

The birth of Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson‘s baby boy comes just one day after her comedian husband Colin Jost confirmed her pregnancy.

Johansson had been missing from her movie’s promotions, resulting in the rise of speculations about a possible pregnancy. While the couple had kept mum for all this while, Jost, performing at the Ridgefield Playhouse in Connecticut over the last weekend, confirmed the rumour. He reportedly said, “We’re having a baby, it’s exciting”, a source in the audience told a tabloid.

What soon followed was the announcement of the birth of their child by Jost via a post on his Instagram profile on August 18. The post consisted of two pages. In the first slide, the SNL host wrote, “Ok ok we had a baby. His name is Cosmo. We love him very much.” In the second slide, he requested that the couple’s privacy be respected, jokingly adding that anybody with enquiries should contact Michael Che, his co-host on SNL. The slide read, “Privacy would be greatly appreciated. For all inquires please contact our publicist @chethinks”.Johansson

Che on his part, updated his Instagram bio to read “Cosmo’s publicist”. He also started sharing the enquiries he’d been receiving on his stories, scolding the public for being so interested in a baby, writing, “its one thing to be obsessed with adult strangers you admire, but like, a baby?”

Baby Cosmo is the couple’s first child together. They got married in October 2020 in a low-key ceremony, following a three-year courtship. Johansson also has a 6-year daughter named Rose with ex-husband Romain Dauriac.

Professionally, Johansson is embroiled in a lawsuit against Disney for breaching the terms of agreement for her movie Black Widow which released in July 2021. Johansson sued Disney for simultaneously releasing the film in theatres as well as their OTT platform. The Hollywood star is also set to return to the big screen with a movie by Wes Anderson that also stars Tom Hanks and Margot Robbie.

Colin Jost, apart from being a comedian, is also an actor and writer. He has been a writer for Saturday Night Live (SNL) since 2005 and Weekend Update co-anchor (with Michael Che) since 2014, as well as the show’s head writer since 2017.

We send the couple and their bundle of joy lots of good wishes.
