The Bollywood industry has been working overtime to provide the eagerly waiting audiences with their favourite stars and cinemas once this pandemic situation is under control. After a complete shutdown the theaters are opening up again and the audiences are slowly getting back again. From Akshay Kumar to Salman Khan to Ranveer Singh, and from Deepika Padukone to Kangana Ranaut to Alia Bhatt they all have their fans eagerly waiting to see them back on the screen. The cinema trade hopes to a booing business at some point of time this year. Though the release dates are not yet decided but these are some anticipated big screen release in 2021.
83
Kabir khan’s new and most talked about direction “83” is anticipated to hit the big screen this year. 83 happened to be the most talked about film in 2020 which makes it quite evident that the film might be released this year. The film narrates the story of first ever cricket World Cup victory in 1983. Starring the film is Ranveer Singh as the Indian team captain Kapil Dev and Deepika Padukone as his wife Romi Dev. A number of star cast will be seen playing cricketing icons- Sunil Gavaskar, Mohinder Amarnath, K. Srikkanth, Dilip Vengsarkar, Sandeep Patil, Yashpal Sharma, Madan Lal, Roger Binny, Syed Kirmani, Kirti Azad, Balwinder Sandhu, and Sunil Valson along with team manager Man Singh and Farokh Engineer. The flim was shot on actual locations including Lord’s. 83 is expected to release in the first quarter of 2021.
Sooryavanshi
The much-awaited Rohit Shetty’s ambitious project Sooryavanshi will finally hit the screens this year. Sooryavanshi happened to be the last film which had a release date before the Covid19 lockdown started, as a result of which it was postponed. Akshaye Kumar will be seen starring in the film as a ATS Sooryavanshi looking out for terrorists. Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgan as Simmba and Singham respectively will reprise their roles in Special Appearances. Veteran actor Jackie Shroff is playing the antagonist in the film and Katrina Kaif as the leading actress will be seen in Sooryavanshi. The film is expected to release in March.
Laal Singh Chadda
The Perfectionist Aamir Khan will be back with a bang playing the lead role of Laal Singh Chadda. Laal Singh Chaddha is the Hindi remake of Robert Zemeckis’ 1994 Hollywood film ‘Forrest Gump’ starring Tom Hanks. ‘Forest Gump’ had won several Oscars and it a cult film, thus, Aamir Khan the perfectionist in Bollywood took up the remake of ‘Forest Gump’. The film reunites Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor as an on-screen pair which was much loved during ‘3 Idiots’. The film is expected to hit the screen on Christmas this year.
Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai
Salman khan maintaining his tradition will be seen on screen with a bang with Prabhu Deva directed Radhe: Your Most wanted Bhai. The film was scheduled to release in 2020 but was pushed due to Covid crisis. There were speculations around a digital release of Radhe, Salman Khan was seen to be pushing it for a theatre release. The film might hit the screens on Eid 2021. The film is rumoured to be a remake of Korean film titled ‘The Outlaws’. Salman Khan will be seen playing the lead role of Radhe and Jackie Shroff plays the role of a senior inspector with a quirky side.
Thalaivi
Kangana Ranaut returns on screen with a biopic. She will be playing the role of Tamil Politician J. Jayalalithaa. Thalaivi is going to be a bilingual film which portrays the journey of the late leader from silver screen to Politics. The biopic is directed by AL Vijay and the film also starts Arvind Swami, Prakash Raj, Madhoo and Bhagyashree. Kangana Ranaut will be seen in a completely different looks in her upcoming release. The biopic of Jayalalithaa has been on the top of most talked about film list at a point of time with higher expectation. It is anticipated that Thalaivi might hit the screens this year.
Brahmastra
The ambitious Ayan Mukherjee project Brahmastra which is said to be superhero adventure became a victim of the situation. The film was supposed to hit the screens in 2019 Christmas which got delayed and shifted 2020 for some reasons. 2020 started of with a lot of heat and excitement about the release. After which the Covid Pandemic hit and India entered the complete lockdown. This turned out to a very unfortunate incident for Brahmastra makers as the release got delayed yet again. This situation provides with clear indication that the film hits the big screen this year. People are expecting a great masterpiece from the Ayan Mukherjee and Ranbir kapoor duo as it had started massive and is being stretched for a long time now. Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor will be starring in the film along with Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy.
RRR
The star cast of the film includes Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, and Olivia Morris and is expected to be a multi lingual film. RRR is a film by SS Rajamouli which happens to be a lavish period action drama. It is mainly based on the lives of two legendary freedom fighters Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The film is shot in Telegu making it a Telegu film debut for actor Ajay Devgan and Alia Bhatt. The teaser for the film mght be out on 26th January.

Ajay Devgan will be back on the screen with a biographical sports film based on the golden era of Indian Football. It is the story of Syed Abdul Rahim who was one of the India’s greatest football coaches. Rahim, who manages the Indian National team from 1950 till his death in 1963, it is said that he refined modern Indian football. The film is expected to release on October 15 this year. Maidan is directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and the star cast includes Gajraj Rao, Rudranil Ghosh, Priyamani along with Ajay Devgan.
Raksha Bandhan
Yet another awaited release of Akshay kumar. The film celebrates the brother and sister bond, it is said that Akshay Kumar dedicates the film to his sister Alka Hiranandani. Karan Johar is coming back on screen with a period drama packed with a multi star cast. Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Alia Bhatt and Janhvi Kapoor will be seen playing leading roles in the film. The sequel to the cult film Bhool Bhulaiya is expected to release on 31st July 2021. Evidently the film is going to be an Indian Comedy horror directed by Anees Bazmee. Initially the film was supposed to hit the screens in 2020 but was pushed because of the Pandemic. Bhool Bhulaiya 2 stars Karthik Aryan and Kiara Advani. Jersey
Shahid Kapoor will be seen back on screen with hindi remake of Telegu film Jersey. Here Shahid kapoor will be seen in a complete new look playing the role of cricketer in this sports drama. The hindi version is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri who helmed the original in 2019. The film tells a story about a talented failed cricketer, Arjun, who decides to mark his comeback during late thirties and play for the Indian team to fulfil his son’s wish. Mrunal Thakur will be seen starring in Jersey as well. Jersey is anticipated to hit the big screen this year.
