Sahabzade Irfan Ali Khan was professionally known as Irrfan Khan or plainly Irrfan. Irrfan Khan may be a renowned Indian screen actor, typically recognized for his work primarily in Hindi movies and his works in Hollywood and British movies. He was born in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on 7 January 1967 to a Pashto Muslim family. Irrfan Khan’s mother, Begum Khan, came from the Tonk Hakim family, and his father, Jagiradar Khan, was from Khajuriya village near the Tonk district. Irrfan Khan’s father had a tire business, and his mother was a housewife. Due to his abilities, Irrfan was selected for under 23 at the Col CK Nayudu Tournament. His Lack of finance for his tournament ticket to Ajmer forced him to give up his cricket sweatshop. He explained that “When I was selected, the team had to travel from Jaipur to Ajmer, and for that, I needed to pay 200-250. I couldn’t arrange for it. So that day, I realized that I could not pursue my career in this field”.
In 1984, Irrfan Khan was doing his Master of Arts degree when he got a scholarship to review at the National School of Drama (NSD) in New Delhi. When Irrfan Khan arrived in Bombay, he worked as an air conditioning repairman, and one of the first homes he visited to repair an air conditioning was the house of superstar Rajesh Khanna.
In Bombay, he started acting in television serials and telefilms. He appeared in some of the tv soaps named Chandrakant, Bharat EkKhoj, AnooGoonj, Sparsh, and BanegiApniBaat.He played the role of a contender in the television series ‘Darr’ that was vented on Star Plus.

After he acted in the lead role in the historical movie, ‘The Warrior’s gained recognition. Further, he appeared in the critically acclaimed short film ‘Road to Ladakh’ in 2003. He was also starred in ‘Jurasthe sic World.’ In 2016 thriller film ‘Inferno’he was cast alongside Tom Hanks. In 2017, he appeared in two films, from which Hindi Medium was commercially and critically successful. Khan’s portrayal in Hindi Mediumas Raj Batra granted him several special honors, one among which was the Filmfare Award for Best ActorAs of 2017. His films had grossed $3.643 billion (₹237 billion) at the worldwide box office. Hindi cinema actress Parvathy Thiruvothu made her debut with him in his next release Qarib Qarib Singlle. On 28 April 2020, Irrfan Khan was taken to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, where he was treated for colon infection. After four days after his mother’s death in Jaipur, On 29 April 2020, Irrfan Khan, the most talented and versatile actors that Indian cinema has seen to date, passed away at the age of 54 after being hospitalized in Mumbai due to a colon infection.
