Shershaah movie by Vishnu Vardhan was a masterpiece. This real-life movie features the braveheart Captian Vikram Batra and his army. It is a mix of two love life stories where the army man is in love with a girl from his college and has an affection for the country. The whole movie is a mix of emotions. Vikram Batra was honoured with the Param Veer Chakra award (PVC). Each emotion in the film is well exposed. Siddharth Malhotra lived the character Vikram Batra and nailed it.
Kiara Advani is a Punjabi woman who falls in love with an army man. Kiara Advani plays Dimple Cheema is just adorable. She excels at playing characters with rigid parents who are opposed to her love interest. The movie starts with Durga Matka hi Jai, with the battle gun firing of the Indo Pakistani war, in 1999. Then comes the flashback of Vikram Batra, the middle-class, who has two elder sisters and a brother (Vishal Batra). His parents are teachers. Vikram Batra was a spunky one from his earlier age who dreamt of joining the Indian army. He studies in the college and there he fells in love with dimple Cheema who is from Chandigarh.
Vikram Batra starts his journey as a lieutenant in Sopore in Jammu and Kashmir rifles. While in the army, he revives his moments when he was in Palampur and with Dimple. Vikram Batra was filmy when dimple Cheema brought up marriage. He cut his thumb and put blood in the parting of her hair, anointing her as his bride. He immortalized his victory catchphrase as Yeh Dil Maange more. After the war victory in the final moments of the film. When Captain Batra’s body returns home wrapped in the tricolour Indian Flag, it makes the heart-wrenching.
The songs Raatan lambiyan, Ranjha and Jai Hind Ki Senaa are soulful. From background score to all the main theme songs are soulfully sung and composed by singers. The master Yuvan Shankar raja elevates the emotion. In the last scenes, it left us with dry eyes in the house.
The story, screenplay, and dialogue writer Sandeep Srivastava and director Vishnu Varadhan attempted justice for Captian Vikram Batra’s legacy and actions meant to India’s Kargil Victory. The movie also strived to show the plight of the Kashmiri people, caught between the army- represented by a few good men – and the militants who are brutal and murderous. There comes Siddharth Malhatora dialogue, We do not trust them, and then they do not trust us.
The Kargil war was the first India televised battle. The screenplay reconfirms, Vikram is a brave heart who does not have a cautious bone in his body. The other soldiers remark on his courage and even actively dissuade him from taking the risks he does. Yogesh the, commanding officer, wonders why his brother did not join the army because there would have been two daredevils Batra brothers serving the country.
It is a sense of the pathos of men killing each other and the sacrifices that they and their families made. When Shershaah ends with footage of the real Shershaah, Vikram Batra laughing and talking about battle inevitably get goosebumps. A twin brother Vishal Batra wanted to know Vikram Batra for his bravery and his deeds. SHERSHAAH shows the real-life twists and turns of every soldier in their life. Their sacrifice to serve the country, this movie deserves all the glory. Shershaah movie is a tribute to the pride of the nation- Captain Vikram Batra. Everyone feels patriotism to the core at the end of the movie and the love for the Indian army.
