Anil Kapoor was born into a Punjabi family on 24th December 1956 in Chembur Mumbai, India to the family of Nirmal Kapoor and Surinder Kapoor film producer. He is the second of four children. His elder brother is Boney Kapoor, who is a film producer, and his younger brother Sanjay Kapoor who is an actor. Both the late actress Sridevi and the producer Mona Shourie Kapoor were the Boney’s wives were his sisters-in-law, and Sandeep Marwah were the founder of the Noida Film City and owner of a Marwah Studios, his brother-in-law. The film actors Mohit Marwah and Arjun Kapoor were his nephews, while actress Janhvi Kapoor, daughter of Sridevi, is his niece. The other Kapoor family of Prithviraj Kapoor are also his so-called relatives as he was his father’s cousin.
Kapoor completed his studies at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School, Mumbai, and at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. In 1984, Anil Kapoor got married to Sunita Bhavnani, and she was a costume designer with whom he has a son and two daughters. Their eldest daughter Sonam Kapoor born in 1985, is an actress, and their youngest daughter Rhea Kapoor was born in 1987, is a film producer, and their son Harshvardhan Kapoor born in 1990, is also an actor by profession.
