Although she has shown no interest in joining the film industry, her career goals lie in the business sector. Belonging to a family of actors on her mother’s side, she is next in line to take over her father, Nikhil Nanda, the managing director of Escorts group, as mentioned by her in an interview with the Vogue magazine.

Navya, along with her 3 other friends, Ahilya Mehta, Mallika Sahney, and Pragya Saboo, co-founded Aara health, an organization that is working towards ensuring a healthy and hygienic lifestyle for women. She defined Aara health as a platform for women that aims to empower, educate, and diagnose in a confidential, safe, and reliable manner on its official Instagram page.

She is also the founder of Project Naveli, a nonprofit organization that aims at promoting gender equality by providing women access to resources and opportunities that will allow social and economic empowerment.

“Navya, I’ve got to tell you, when I agreed to mentor these four girls who were running Aara Health, their proposition was terrific. And it’s a proposition that suited the Indian zeitgeist, I just loved what the four were doing; dedicated, hard-working”, said Indra Nooyi, CEO of Pepsico India, in a panel discussion on Mojo Story.

Adding to the list of praises, she also said that after every meeting, Navya used to follow up and report on the progress they have made. She said that she had no idea that Navya was Amitabh’s granddaughter. When she looked at her, she saw her as a young and extraordinary businessperson. She also said that she wished that she had been as mature as Navya when she was her age, but said that she hadn’t been.

Navya was featured by the UN Women this year which is the entity of the United Nations for women empowerment and gender equality. Navya expressed her gratitude on her social media handle for the same. She had shared some pictures featuring her along with some of her quotes and ideologies on inequality towards women.

Navya shared a bold and strong message with this where she stated that although being featured on this platform was a matter of honor for her because her voice and efforts are reaching out, she is sad about the current situation.

According to her, the pandemic has disproportionately affected women more than men and has stressed the fact that this makes gender equality a distant reality because the second wave of COVID-19 has hit women worse.

The budding entrepreneur also added that one can help by using the resources that her organization has to support women, especially those women who have lost their jobs, entrepreneurs who are struggling to keep their Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) afloat, and also who have lost someone close and are struggling hard to support their families on their own.

The proud mother, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, shared a video snippet captioned-: “That’s my little girl, in conversation with her absolute idol!! An absolute dream come true for her, and no greater joy for a mother than to see her daughter realize her dreams. @navyananda you’ve been manifesting this forever. I am unbelievably proud of you PS- of course, I put up the bits about my kid – but the whole interview is an example of FEMALE FIERCENESS going to post the link on my story, do watch”.
