On 2nd October 2021, The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) conducted a raid on the cruise ship Cordelia traveling to Goa from Mumbai.
In the raid, NCB founds drugs and arrested 8 people at that time. One of the detained people was Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The arrest was conducted on the charges of consumption, sale, and purchase of narcotic drugs.

The 23-year-old Aryan Khan is represented by lawyer Satish Maneshinde, who had previously defended Rhea Chakraborty. On 7th October 2021, Aryan Khan and the seven other accused were sent to 14 days of judicial custody by the Mumbai magistrate’s court. After which Satish Maneshinde, the lawyer of Aryan, had filed for bail plea.
All the accused were taken to undergo the Covid-19 RT-PCR and other medical tests. At the lawyer’s request, the court approved the stay of Aryan Khan, and others charged at the NCB office as the jail doesn’t take intake at night time.
The Esplanade Magistrate court heard the bail plea on Friday, 8th October at 12.30 pm. The counsel for Aryan Khan had filed two bail applications before the court. The two application types were interim bail, which allows the 23-year-old to be released right away, and regular bail, which will enable Aryan to be released while the matter is being investigated.
According to the NCB, Aryan Khan’s confinement should be extended since the agency must confront him and Arbaaz with another suspect, Achit Kumar, who was apprehended based on Aryan’s disclosures. NCB has already objected to regular bail under the NDPS Act, 1985.
While asking for bail, Satish Maneshinde said that Aryan was not interrogated and kept under custody for the last two nights and that the custody should not be extended. Maneshinde argued that Aryan has no connection to any of the organizers, and he does not deny his friendship with Arbaaz, but he is not connected with Arbaaz’s activities. Further, when Aryan was taken to the NCB office, he searched again, and the agency found nothing. They even took Aryan’s phone in custody.
In his statement, Aryan said that he reached the gate at the terminal. Arbaaz was also there. Before they could board the ship, NCB asked them questions and searched them. When they started for the ship, they asked questions about taking drugs and then searched his bags. After searching, they found nothing. Furthermore, lawyer Maneshinde stated that Aryan Khan’s conversations with Prateek may verify this. He further said that Prateek is also Arbaaz’s friend. Hence he was also invited to the cruise.
At the Cruise Party, Aryan Khan was a VVIP guest. Prateek, a friend, invited him to “add glamour” to the party. According to Aryan, Prateek introduced him to someone who knew the organizers. He only went there to add excitement to the cruise. Finally, Aryan stated that more than 1300 people were present on the cruise, and only 17 were arrested.
Aryan Khan, Arbaz Merchant, and six other people were placed in judicial custody for 14 days after the hearing. The matter will be heard next by a special NDPS court.
In addition to Aryan Khan, the NCB has arrested Arbaaz Merchant, Munmun Dhamecha, Nupur Satija, Ishmeet Chadha, Mohak Jaiswal, Gomit Chopra, Vikrant Chhokar, and a drug dealer from suburban Juhu.
Many fans and celebrities have come in support of Shah Rukh Khan and his family. Salman Khan, Karan Johar, and Farah Khan were seen visiting SRK’s house. Hrithik Roshan had penned down a note for Aryan Khan on his Instagram in which he told Aryan to ‘own’ the situation and that these moments are the makers of his tomorrow.
Sunil Shetty told the media, “Give the child a breather and let the real reports come in.” Raveena Tandon, Hansal Mehta, Pooja Bhatt, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, Mika Singh, Sussanne Khan, and other celebrities supported Aryan Khan.
