Dwayne Johnson Reveals His Co-stars Thanked Him For Calling Out Their Co-star And Producer, Vin Diesel

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson who started his career as a professional wrestler and became a household name while performing for WWE is now a successful Hollywood superstar. Dwayne is currently one of the highest-paid actors in the world and has an immense fan following.

Well, there isn’t anyone who knows about Dwayne Johnson and hasn’t heard about his feud with his Fast and Furious costar, Vin Diesel. The feud started in 2017 during the shooting of the movie, The Fate of the Furious.

After the start of the feud, the shooting of the movie was completed but they didn’t share any screen time which was the main reason due to which the shooting continued. During the feud, the duo vowed never to work with each other again and have stayed true to their word even after 5 years have passed away.

The Fate of the Furious saw both actors working together for the last time. After which Vin continued with the main series forward and Dwayne reprised his role as Hobbs in the spin-off, Hobbs and Shaw (2019).

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Dwayne Johnson opened up about this entire situation. Read more to know what Dwayne had to say in the interview.

Dwayne said that it wasn’t his best day, referring to the day on which he shared the now-deleted post in which he referred to Vin Diesel as ‘candy ass’ and ‘chicken shit’ without even mentioning his name.

The post was captioned, “My female co-stars are always amazing and I love ’em. My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand-up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken sh*t to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling—you’re right.” He also added a hashtag ‘#ZeroToleranceForCandyAsses’.

The post was soon deleted but thanks to his over 100 million followers at that time, the post blew up and became a hot topic of discussion.

When asked about the post, Dwayne stated that it sparked a storm. Interestingly, it seemed as if every single member of the team found their way to him and either quietly thanked him or sent him a note. But, yes, sharing that wasn’t his best day and that he should not have revealed it. Because, at the end of the day, it contradicts his DNA. He never says stuff like that. And he keeps that kind of nonsense out of the public eye. The general public does not need to be aware of such kind of thing.

The interviewer further asked him that, did he regret posting after seeing the effects; to which Dwayne said that he meant what he said and would not take it back, however, he just regrets the fact that he expressed it publicly.

Confirming a rumor, Dwayne laughed and validated that there was a meeting between him and Vin Diesel after the viral post, but one wouldn’t say that the meeting was a peaceful one. The meeting was a meeting of clarity. Vin and Dwayne had a talk in Dwayne’s trailer, and it was out of that chat that it became just crystal clear that they are two different ends of the spectrum. In the end, they both agreed to leave things there.

In June, while talking with Men’s Health magazine, Vin Diesel said that the way he acted with Dwayne Johnson was kind of an ‘act of tough love’ to take the performance where it needed to be.

When asked about Vin’s statement, Dwayne laughed and said, one part of him feels like there’s no way he’d dignify any of that nonsense with an answer. But the truth is that he’s been around the block quite a few times. Unlike Vin, he did not come from a theatrical background. As we all know, he was born and raised differently. And he arrived from an entirely different culture and environment.

He gives his all into every project. And if he believes that something needs to be squared out, managed, and taken care of, he will do it. And it’s as simple as that. Dwayne further added that after listening to what Vin had to say, just like everybody else he just wants to laugh.

On the work front, Dwayne Johnson will be seen next in a cinema hall on 12th November 2021 in the movie Red Notice which also stars Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot. The Rock is also working on multiple projects like Black Adam, Young Rock Season 2, Hobbs & Shaw 2 among others.
