Honsla Rakh is a Punjabi romantic comedy movie directed by Amarjit Singh Saron. The movie is written by Rakesh Dhawan. It has a total runtime of 145 minutes. This film is the debut of Diljit Dosanjh as a producer. It was released worldwide theatrically on 15th October 2021.
The story of the film shows a divorced father who raises his son single-handedly and after he starts dating, faces challenges and the whole movie is about it. The character played by Diljit Dosanjh is Yenkey Singh, Shehnaz Gill plays Jasmine, who is a yoga teacher and Sonam Bajwa plays Sweety, who is a fashion designer and also the ex-wife of Yenkey Singh. The whole film was shot in Canada.
Honsla Rakih broke all the Pollywood box office records with a first-day collection of 5.50 crores. The film had an opening weekend worldwide gross collection of 17.50 crore. The film as of 20th October 2021, collected a total of 26.25 crores worldwide. Diljit Dosanjh broke his record as his film ‘Shada’ was the highest opening film ever and now it is Honsla Rakh.
Honsla Rakh had made around 51 lakhs in Delhi. Honsla Rakh has also crossed Bollywood movies like Bell Bottom and Roohi as Bell Bottom had a total box office collection of 35 lakhs and Roohi collected a total box office of 42 lakhs.
Diljit Dosanjh is a Punjabi singer, actor, and producer who has sung many pollywood as well as Bollywood songs like Ishq ka Uda Adaa, G.O.A.T, Ishq ho Gaya, Chocolate. He movies include Good Newwz (2019), Udta Punjab, Jatt and Julliet, Sardaar Ji. He made his debut in Bollywood in the 2016 crime thriller movie ‘Udta Punjab’ and won the Filmfare award for the Best Male Debut and also won Best Supporting Actor for the film Good News.
Shehnaz Gill who is an actress, model, and singer who gained popularity by finishing third place in Big Boss Season 13. She begun her modeling career in the music album Shiv Di Kitaab in 2015. She made her acting debut in the Punjabi film Sat Shri Akal England in 2017. She also appeared in many music albums like Yeah Baby, Yaari, Bhula Dunga, Fly, Habit, etc. She is playing the role of Jasmine, who is a Yoga Teacher.
Sonam Bajwa is an actress and model who appears mostly in Punjabi films. She made her debut in the movie Best of Luck in 2019. She also participated in the 2016 Femina Miss India Contest. She is also an air hostess and later persuaded her career as an actress. She was nominated for the 2020 PTC Punjabi film award for best actress and won it in 2020 Ardab Mutiyaraa.
She has acted in many Pollywood movies like Best of Luck, Kapaa; Sardaar Jii, Nikka Jaidar, Super Singh, Shadaa, Singham, and many movies. Sonam Bajwa ranked No. 1 in the Chandigarh Most Desirable Woman in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020.
Shinda Grewal is an upcoming star in the Punjabi film industry. He is the son of famous Punjabi singer Gippy Grewal. He made his debut in the film ‘Ardaas’ and ‘Ardaas Karaan’. He also appeared in the music album ‘Ice Cap’ by Humble Music. He plays as a child actor in the film ‘Honsla Rakh’.
The promotional song of the movie was supposed to be filmed by 15th September, but due to the shocking death of Gill’s rumored boyfriend Sidharth Shukla, the promotional song was postponed and was shot on 5th October.
The movie is breaking many records and proving to be highest grossing Punjabi film.
