With Avengers: Endgame releasing in cinemas in 2019, box office collectors had no idea what they would be hit. However, some predicted that this superhero movie would make its impact on the collection box like none other. Avengers: Endgame became the worthy opponent that was able to dethrone the decade-long rule of Avatar.

However, with the release of Avatar in China, the movie was able to reclaim its throne, with its overall collection crossing over $2.8 billion. Now only the future knows whether or not there will be any change in the topper of the list.

Here are the top 10 grossing movies of all time:

1. Avatar (2009)

He directed, wrote, produced, and co-edited Avatar, a 2009 epic science fiction film.In the mid-twentieth century, mankind colonizes Pandora, a lush liveable moon of a gas giant in the Alpha Centauri star system, to extract the valuable mineral unobtainium.

The mining colony’s expansion puts a local tribe of Na’vi – a humanoid race native to Pandora – in jeopardy of extinction.The film’s title refers to a genetically altered Na’vi body that is used to engage with the people of Pandora and is controlled by the brain of a distant human.

2. Avengers: Endgame (2019)

The Avengers: Endgame shows events after Avengers: Infinity War (2018) wherein the surviving avengers come together and try to reverse the effect caused by Thanos. The movie received a lot of love from the audience. It also included the departure of a long-time member of the franchise.

Based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name, The Avengers is a 2012 American superhero film.

The seventh installment in the Fast & Furious franchise, Furious 7, is the highest-grossing movie of the franchise. The movie also managed to get at the 4th position in the all-time grossing list at its release. However, after seven years after its release, it has dropped down to the 9th position.

In the movie, we can see that Dominic Toretto(Dom), Brian O’Conner, and the rest of their team have returned to the United States of America to live normal lives after obtaining amnesty for their previous crimes, until Deckard Shaw, rogue special forces assassin seeking vengeance for his younger brother.

The latter is in a coma, putting the team in danger once more. This was the last appearance of Paul Walker in the franchise due to his demise in a car accident in 2013.

10. Frozen II (2019)

Last but not least, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen II is a 2019 American computer-animated musical fantasy film.

The film follows two sisters, Elsa and Anna, and ice harvester Kristoff, a reindeer named Sven, and a snowman named Olaf, three years after the events of Frozen (2013). They set out on a journey to discover the ancient origins of Elsa’s magical abilities and to save their kingdom from an elemental curse originating in the mythical Enchanted Forest.
